Please use this to inform your school health delivery plans for the academic year 2023-24.The data contained in the attached excel spreadsheet has been sourced from either public facing webpages: Public health profiles - OHID (phe.org.uk), or from anonymised datasets collected locally by Warrington Borough Council or local NHS Services.All data sources and definitions have been provided.Ward data: The data presented in this tab is a collection of various health and wellbeing datasets that are presented at ward level. The colour coding of the cells represent whether there are statistical differences in the local rate when compared to England. The key provides additional details of the colour coding used.Deprivation: The two maps presented on this tab show the differing levels of overall deprivation (IMD) and income deprivation affecting children (IDACI). Further information about these datasets can be accessed at the link provided. LA Child Health Profile: this tab presents the Warrington area profile for various child health profiles. I have pulled together some RSE lesson delivery across the key stage (please see hyperlinks)Reminder for secondary schools to agree the School Nurse FREE RSE student delivery for Year 9 & Year 10 studentsReminder of the FREE Sexual Health Training from our public health commissioned sexual health service axess. Axess Education Team offer FREE sexual health professional training and educational resources for secondary schools, colleges and community settings. The training offer aims to drive outstanding relationship and sex education (RSE) to enable young people to develop safe, fulfilling and healthy sexual relationships. Through a ‘train the trainer model’ axess recognise the need for professionals to feel confident, upskilled, and knowledgeable when discussing sexual health. This includes: RSE Resource - To support teachers and professionals delivering relationship and sex education to young people of secondary school age, axess have produced an outstanding package of educational resources providing practical support to implement the sexual health elements of the statutory requirements for RSE. Through professional briefings axess education team aim to upskill teachers and those providing dedicated education to utilise this resource.CHAMPIONS -The Champions programme is designed for staff working in colleges, youth services and community settings with young people aged 16+. A full day’s training will enable professionals to become Sexual Health Champions who can offer condom distribution, STI screening support, brief interventions and education sessionsENHANCED TRAINING - To support professionals the briefings aim to increase confidence, knowledge, and skills to help initiate and normalise conversations around sexual health. Featured Service of the Week - Public Health Welcome to the Public Health Training HubWarrington Borough Council Public Health Team offers a range of training, including stand-alone sessions, workshops and courses made up of a series of sessions. We cover a range of topics linked to important health and wellbeing priorities for Warrington including Healthy Weight, Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Sexual Health.The aim of our training is to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence to support others to identify and manage their own health and wellbeing. Our Public Health Training website is frequently updated with new sessions, all of which are delivered by Warrington Public Health Team and partners.By attending our training you will develop subject knowledge, enhance your practical skills and learn about lifestyle choices and behaviour and their impact on health and wellbeing. We aim to enable people to feel confident talking to others about health and lifestyle factors in everyday settings. Additionally, the training is an opportunity for staff, volunteers, and community members to become more aware of support services in Warrington and learn about Public Health campaigns. Free, e-learning sessions focusing on mental health and wellbeing can also be found on Warrington’s Happy? OK? Sad? site.How to search and book a place:You can search and book on to any of the Public Health training sessions through this online booking system. If it’s your first time visiting the site, you’ll need to register before you can book on. Click the sign up link, fill in the form and submit. It may take one or two working days before you receive confirmation that your registration is complete. If you’ve booked on to a training session through this system before then you’ll already be registered and once you’ve logged into the site you’ll be able to book places on the training sessions.Cost and eligibility:Our training is offered throughout the year, to frontline workers and volunteers, from not-for profit organisations, who work within Warrington to support Warrington’s residents.
